TOWN BOARDS / Planning Commission Agendas & Minutes:

In 2010 the Planning Commission concluded a 3-year process of overhauling the Town Plan and the Land Use Regulations.  With the new Land Use Regulations now in effect we expect that St. George residents and landowners will enjoy greater flexibility for use of their land, and with a permitting process that can be streamlined considerably more than the former regulations permitted. 

The next issue that the commission is just beginning to consider is some measure of planning for the Village Center.  During the past two years we have met with representatives from the VT Dept. of Housing and Community Affairs, the VT Forum on Sprawl and the VT Design Institute.  Preliminary indications are that the town may be eligible for state funding for infrastructure improvements (roads, water, septic, power, etc.).  In order to determine what funding we may be able to receive and how it may be directed, we must first develop a plan to see how & where future Village Center development may occur.  We are just starting to explore this planning and eagerly welcome your thoughts and participation.
